Spark Unlimited, better known as the developer of Call of Duty: Finest Hour, has signed up for a new project with Gamecock. The project is entitled Legendary: The Box and is being developed for release in 2008 on PC and next-generation consoles. The report comes from GamesIndustry.biz.
Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited, reveals that the game is their dream game that they've secretly been working on. He continues:
"We've made a name for ourselves with World War II first-person shooters, but Legendary: The Box is our labour of love. It's a thrill to work with Gamecock; they want to see the game completed exactly as we envisioned it."
Spark Unlimited is also collaborating with Codemasters on the upcoming Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - a game scheduled for release before the end of this year.

Steve Ellis from Free Radical is proud to announce that a new Timesplitters game will be released on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. According to the sparse details "they're 'gearing' up to insert monkeys and guns into all the wrong places".
Judging by the logo which is being used by Free Radical it's in fact a spoof of Gears of War. The Gears of War logo also has a monkey on it.
Stay tuned for more information in the future!

If you haven't tried Shadowrun yet, then you should do that immediately through Xbox Live Marketplace. According to the official Shadowrun forums a demo has been released, weighing in at approximately 1.07 GB.>
The Xbox 360 demo includes the first three training chapters, bot and online multiplay, the Power Station level, Elf and Human races, four types of magic, three types of tech, and six weapons including the katana.
The game was released last week and is an online multiplayer game derived from the pen-and-paper RPG series of the same name. One of the primary features is the possibility for PC and Xbox 360 owners to play against each other on the same servers. Download the demo now. It's definitely worth trying before buying!

Activision reveals in their latest financial report that Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is planned to be released by the end of summer. This narrows the release date down to July, August or September. August would actually be a quite realistic date, although Activision is not going to set a precise date until the game has gone gold.
"It's finished when it's done," as id Software always put it.
Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The Windows version is expected to hit the stores first - and will see you compete in online battles as either Strogg or Human factions.

Todd Hollenshead of id Software has given a little update on the progress of the upcoming Castle Wolfenstein title. Unfortunately the new game in the series will not come out this year. Castle Wolfenstein is in the works at developer Raven Software and has been confirmed for both Xbox 360 and PC.
Hollenshead says:
"Raven is still developing it. I hope we'll be able to have some more news about the game within a reasonably short period of time. We made the announcement that the 360 was the primary development platform - that hasn't changed, but it is in development for the PC as well.
Wolfenstein is a game that's close to my heart. It was the first game that I played even before I came to work at id in 1996 as CEO, and I played it until I had motion-sickness from trying to find all the secrets behind the walls.
The new Wolfenstein is going to be a game that is different and unique in its own right, but still B.J. Blazkowicz in the Wolfenstein universe, with all the cool stuff and the unique stuff there. And hopefully we'll have some more details about how that is all going to work before too long."
2008 is a long time to wait - especially without a specific release date.

It doesn't come as a big surprise. However, Activision has officially confirmed the development of Call of Duty 4 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Infinity Ward that created the first two games in the series will take the warfare to the next level of eye-popping graphics and great entertainment.
The game is based around a fictional conflict in an unnamed Middle Eastern nation that's masterminded by Warlord Zakhaev to distract Western powers from his consolidation of power in Russia. You'll join elite units as one of the first to respond to the call for help.
Infinity Ward promises that it will be the best story yet. Multiplayer is also going to be a large part of the game. It is said to be based around Call of Duty 2 - only much better. But when can we expect the game to hit the stores in Europe? Unfortunately they don't know it yet.

Well, I couldn't let this one get past me. Halo 3 is more popular than Bungie and the rest of the world could have ever expected. The number of players when the Beta went live last week was impressive 610,000 users within the first 24 hours - and 500,000 people are still playing every day. Woow!
I think all the records will be beaten when the game is released September 26!

One of the most despised human beings in the gaming community, Jack Thompson, continues his annoying terror against computer and video games. This time he has sent a letter to Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates - where he threatens with lawsuit over the upcoming Halo 3 for Xbox 360.
Here is a quote from the letter:
The hyperviolent Microsoft Xbox 360 game Halo 3 is scheduled by your company for commercial release in September of this year. The Beta version that was released last week shows us all just how violent the game is and how inappropriate it is for play by anyone under 17, as the “Mature” rating it will surely receive indicates.
"Here's the deal, Mr. Gates: Either Microsoft undertakes dramatic, real steps, through its marketing, wholesale, and retail operations to assure that Halo 3 is not sold, via the Internet and in stores, directly to anyone under 17, or I shall proceed to make sure that Microsoft is held to that standard by appropriate legal means. I have done that before successfully as to Best Buy, and I shall do so again as to Microsoft and all retailers of Halo 3."
Halo 3 is scheduled for release on 26th September.

Peter Dille of Sony has told the press that Killzone 2 for the PS3 and the newly announced SOCOM sequel will both be playable at this year's E3. In an interview with GameInformer, Dille explains that Sony has been holding back on Killzone ever since the disasterous E3 2005. Therefore it's time to show off the game.
E3 is invitation only this year - but there will no doubt be tons of videos!
