THQ plans to release two new Destroy All Humans! games. Their announcement comes just before this year's E3 and it's expected that we're going to get more details during the games conference. The first of these new games will be released on Wii, PS2 and PSP and is called Destroy All Humans! Big Willy Unleashed. You'll play as alien protagonist Crypto and travel by spaceship, on foot or gigantic mechanised robot-shaped vehicle. The game makes use of the motion-sensing abilities of the Wiimote and is going to be released early 2008.
The second new game is Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon. The story happens after Big Willy Unleashed and this game is announced for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 only. Here you'll once again play as protagonist Crypto in his mission to learn Kung Fu. Sounds like great fun! It's also scheduled for release early next year.
It's expected that both games will be filled with comedy - continuing the tradition from the first two games on PS2 and Xbox.

Rockstar Games is very disappointed. Their latest game, Manhunt 2, has been banned in several countries including such big markets as USA, Ireland, Italy and now also the UK. The developer of the Grand Theft Auto series and Canis Canem Edit disagrees with the ratings board's decision and states in a press release that the adult consumers should be allowed to make up their own minds about the content of any game.
Rockstar Games writes:
"We are disappointed with the recent decision by the British Board of Film Classification to refuse classification of Manhunt 2. While we respect the authority of the classification board and will abide by the rules, we emphatically disagree with this particular decision.
"Manhunt 2 is an entertainment experience for fans of psychological thrillers and horror. The subject matter of this game is in line with other mainstream entertainment choices for adult consumers."
The reason for the banning is of course that the game is filled with violence, gore and murder. The ratings board would not give Manhunt 2 a rating because by issuing a certificate "would involve a range of unjustifiable risks, to both adults and minors".
The statement from Rockstar Games continues:
"We respect those who have different opinions about the horror genre and videogames as a whole, but we hope they will also consider the opinions of the adult gamers for whom this product is intended.
We believe all products should be rated to allow the public to make informed choices about the media and art they wish to consume.
The stories in modern videogames are as diverse as the stories in books, film and television. The adult consumers who would play this game fully understand that it is fictional interactive entertainment and nothing more."
The game was scheduled for release in July for PlayStation 2, PSP and Wii until Rockstar Games postponed the game.

Oh no, now that's bad news. Capcom has no plans of releasing Resident Evil 5 this year, even though a sequel is highly anticipated and could save the future of both Wii and PlayStation 3. The game is missing from this financial year's line-up. Unfortunately that means we won't be able to buy it before April 2008.
The publisher will rely on sales from strong games such as Devil May Cry 4, Devil Kings 2 Heroes, The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil 4.
On the positive side there are six titles heading for PC, Wii and Xbox 360 while PS3 trail behind with only five. YEAH!

Rumours say that Tomb Raider Anniversary is heading to Xbox 360. The game has already been released or confirmed on PC, PS2, PSP and Wii and is basically a remake of the first game in the series released about 11 years ago.
The rumours come from the Entertainment Software Ratings Board website where the game has been listed for Microsoft's console. It suggests that four different missions - or maps - will be released - probably through Live Marketplace as add-ons for Tomb Raider: Legend.
No release date has been given yet and Eidos has yet to confirm the Xbox 360 version of the anniversary. The game is out now on PC and PlayStation 2 nonetheless. Try it out!

Wrooom wrooom. EA has announced the next game in the Need For Speed series. The new game is a street-racing based adventure game and is called ProStreet. It will hit Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, DS, PS2, PSP and mobiles this autumn.
Canada-based EA Black Box is developing it and the franchise will yet again be rubbing shoulders with the underground racing world. The developers promise that the graphics have undergone an overhaul and look literally jaw-dropping. Every crash and bump will leave scratches on your car - which is fully customizable. There will also be "a revolutionary online mode that will redefine the meaning of competitive social play".
Larry LaPierre, execute producer of the game, says:
"Need for Speed ProStreet accelerates street racing culture by providing the ultimate stage for the pursuit of supremacy. This is a game about building the ultimate performance-tuned battle machine, taking it to multi-disciplinary showdowns all over the world and pitting your skills and reputation against the very best street racers."
Now we just have to wait.

The latest we've seen from the crazy people on MTV's Jackass is the feature movie entitled Number Two, which can be bought on DVD. My advise is of course that you buy it. There's both painful and very funny stunts involved this time around. Entertainment at its best.
The show is also made into a video game for DS, PS2 and PSP - with Empire Interactive as the publisher and Sidhe developing. The game is said to have 35 insane mini-games with some of the show's biggest stars, including Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Wee-Man etc.
Some of the mini-games are based on stunts from the TV show while others are based on ideas that the crew has had but hasn't made it happen in real life. Knoxville is quoted this week for saying: "We just hope that our video game is as crappy as our movies."
Well, the chances for that are high!

There are things in life that are just inevitable. FIFA 08 is one those things. The guys at EA Sports have of course been working (hard) on another installment of their world football game - it is scheduled for release later in 2007.
Now they have announced what stars we can expect on the cover. Ronaldinho is of course present on sort of every single national version of the game, but he has to share the spotlight with local stars. Who said stars? Who the f*** are Andreas Ivanschitz (Panathinaikos FC) and Tranquillo Barnetta (Bayer Leverkusen), representing Austria and Switzerland?
The other announced players are Miroslav Klose (Werder Bremen) on the German sleeve, Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) on the Spanish cover of FIFA 08 and Frank Ribery (Marseille) will join Ronaldinho for the French version.
My question is of course: Who is going to represent the English and Danish versions of the game? I hope Daniel Agger is the Danish star - even though his club Liverpool ran out of steam last night in the Champions League final. He's indeed a great player! My guess for the UK version is not surprisingly Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.

EA Sports will bring FIFA on the PS3 and the Wii for the first time, EA confirmed today. FIFA 07 launched on the PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PSP, DS, Xbox and GameCube, and it is expected that FIFA 08 is released on the same platforms except GameCube and Xbox.
The game will be available in fall. The stars on the cover are expected to be announced tomorrow. I'll let you know when that happens.
