Ubisoft has released a new multiplayer demo for the PC version of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. Head over to the official website for a list of download mirrors - it weighs in at just over a gigabyte!

The demo includes the PC-exclusive map Calavera in Recon vs. Assault and Team Deathmatch. If you own a PC and have been waiting a long time for the tactical squad-based shooter for your platform, you will get a map editor, a new multiplayer mode and a more tactical experience, according to the developers.

The game is released on 29th June.

20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to make the life simulation computer game The Sims into a movie. The game, developed by Electronic Arts and legendary game-maker Will Wright, is the best selling PC game in history - with worldwide sales topping impressive 85 million aka. $1.6 billion.

The movie will be live-action. What? How can they turn computer-generated characters into live-action human beings without it being too cartoonish? Well, it's not totally wrong to assaume that it'll end up as a family comedy. Screenwriter Brian Lynch has been hired to write the script.

Shane Kim of Microsoft hints that Second Life might be coming to Xbox 360. At least he's talking to developer Linden Labs about the possibilities of bringing the PC title to the 360. In an interview with Shacknews, Kim says he has "spent some time with the Linden Lab guys," and continues to say that the days of the third-party exclusives are over.

"You're not going to get exclusives from third parties in the future - not very many, anyway. The economics of the business just don't support it. It costs too much money to make and to market the titles, so third parties almost can't afford it, and hardware guys can't afford to pay a third party publisher to compensate them for the opportunity cost.

You're going to see third party titles on every platform, and we can't count on third parties to do our heavy lifting. That's what the job of the first party is, and my job in particular is to make MGS competitive versus Sony first party."

Shane Kim also takes time to comment on rival Sony's claims that the upcoming PlayStation Home is a valid alternative to Xbox Live.

Baaaam, baam, baaaaaaam... Guitar Hero is going back to the 80's! Bits of the tracklist have just been released, and according to RedOctane:

"The 80's features an amazing varety of rock genres from hair metal to punk to new wave and our dedicated Guitar Hero fans will definitely appreciate the opportunity to play all the new and exciting content we’ve added.”
